Vito Throws 11-0 Shutout
Thursday, July 19th , 2040
It wasn't easy but the Texas (DSL) Rangers 2 made it look that way.
Starter Chris Vito shut out the Washington (DSL) Nationals despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Texas (DSL) Rangers 2 cruised to victory, 11-0. Vito allowed only 1 hit and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
In 8 starts this year, Vito has recorded a 2-1 record and a 3.73 ERA.
