Polk Shackles Chicago N (DSL) Thursday, July 31st , 2031 It wasn't easy but the New York A (DSL) Yankees 1 made it look that way. Starter Josh Polk shut out the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 2 despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the New York A (DSL) Yankees 1 cruised to victory, 3-0. Polk allowed only 6 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season Polk has compiled a 7-0 record with a 2.68 ERA. |
