Boston (DSL) Skunks Chicago N (DSL), 6-0 Sunday, July 27th , 2031 There was no spell, no black magic -- just good pitching. Josh Altman of the Boston (DSL) Red Sox 2 blanked the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 2, 6-0, at Frozen Ropes Ballpark today, and he did it the old-fashioned way. After finishing the 4-hit, complete-game shutout, he was all smiles. "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game," Altman said. "I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance." Altman walked 3 and struck out 7 in the victory. "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes," Cubs 2 manager Aly Gonzalez said later. This season in 10 starts Josh Altman has a record of 5-1 with 73 strikeouts in 76 innings and a 3.32 ERA. |
