Twins End Sheeley's Streak
Friday, July 2nd , 2027
It was the best of both worlds for the Minnesota (DSL) Twins today at Baseball City Complex, as they defeated the Chicago N (DSL) Cubs 2 7-6 and also snapped Sam Sheeley's 21-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Chicago N (DSL) center fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Sheeley, we just wanted to win the game," said Twins skipper Matt Williams. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Sheeley frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
This season Sheeley is batting .400 with 42 hits, 10 home runs, 34 RBIs, 9 walks, .447 OBP and has scored 29 runs. He has played in 22 games.
