5-for-5 Game for Ewald Sunday, September 6th , 2043 Chris Ewald was at the head of a Norwich Sea Unicorns hit parade at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. The 25-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Lowell Spinners that marched off with the 9-8 win. "We didn't have it today," griped Sea Unicorns skipper Kevin Lynn following the game. "Chris did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching." Ewald did more than fine, dominating the Spinners at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance. "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging center fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." Chris Ewald singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Batting .355 to date, Ewald has 1 home run and 8 RBIs. |
