Popolo NYP's Top Player for 2044

At the age of 25, Joe Popolo of the West Virginia Black Bears could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2044 was good enough to win the third baseman the New York-Penn League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .409 batting average this year, as well as a .528 on-base percentage. He played 68 games and racked up 101 hits, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs, 36 RBIs and 50 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 14. Andy Fornelli of the Lowell Spinners finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Derek Haufler of the Aberdeen Ironbirds finished third.
