Williams Blisters Lowell
Friday, September 18th , 2043
Chris Williams was sizzling at the plate. The Staten Island shortstop blistered the Lowell Spinners for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 11-8.

"Williams was too tough to get out today," Spinners skipper Brandon Wood said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win."

Chris Williams doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Williams is hitting .272 this year with 7 home runs and 26 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .340, 25 walks and scored 38 times.
Lowell Moves on to Round 2
Wednesday, September 16th , 2043
It was a rousing finish to the Round 1 at Edward A. LeLacheur Park today.

The Lowell Spinners sent the State College Spikes home for the season with a 8-3 win in the decisive game of the series.

The Spinners took the series 3-2. Up next on their schedule is the Round 2.

Hauling in the MVP trophy was Lowell right fielder Kevin Weiler. His numbers included a .316 batting average, 6 RBIs and 5 runs.

"With any luck, I'll be hoisting another one of these at the end of the Round 2," he said.

The Lowell Spinners will play against the Staten Island Yankees in the next round. Staten Island won their series against the Norwich Sea Unicorns 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
