Williams Blisters Lowell
Friday, September 18th , 2043
Chris Williams was sizzling at the plate. The Staten Island shortstop blistered the Lowell Spinners for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to defeat, 11-8.
"Williams was too tough to get out today," Spinners skipper Brandon Wood said in a postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win."
Chris Williams doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
Williams is hitting .272 this year with 7 home runs and 26 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .340, 25 walks and scored 38 times.
