Lugnuts Get Zip in 1-0 Loss to Bautista Monday, August 8th , 2044 It wasn't easy but the West Michigan Whitecaps made it look that way. Starter Ricky Bautista shut out the Lansing Lugnuts despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the West Michigan Whitecaps cruised to victory, 1-0. Bautista allowed only 5 hits and rang up 7 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season, Bautista has 10 wins and 2 losses and a 1.77 ERA. |
