Delmonico Goes 5-for-6 Tuesday, September 1st , 2043 Even as a kid, Biagio Delmonico said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Southwest University park, Delmonico showed how well he learned that lesson. The 26-year-old center fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Reno Aces, helping his team knock off the El Paso Chihuahuas by a score of 5-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Biagio Delmonico doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and singled in the 12th. In 70 games this year, Delmonico has posted a .320 average and put up these numbers: 8 home runs, 42 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
