Isotopes End Gruber Streak Tuesday, September 1st , 2043 Billy Gruber's sizzling hitting streak was snapped at 22 games, as the Sacramento River Cats dropped their contest with the Albuquerque Isotopes, 10-9, at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park. Gruber failed to get a hit, finishing 0-for-1. After the game Gruber spoke with BNN and called his effort "quite a streak." "I just ran into some good pitching today," he said. During the current season Gruber is batting at a .299 clip with 9 home runs and 44 RBIs. He has played in 94 games and scored 36 times. |
