Petralia Tames Chiefs, 3-0
|
Kris Petralia bent a little, but he didn't break against the Peoria Chiefs. The Cedar Rapids Kernels pitcher hurled a 6-hit, 3-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 2 walks and tallying 8 strikeouts.
"Kris is good at getting out of jams," Kernels manager Bill Auclair told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
So far this year, Petralia has delivered no saves. In 7 relief appearances he has 55 strikeouts in 53.2 innings with a 1.51 ERA and 2 wins and 2 losses.
