Riley on Fire: 5-for-6 for Atlanta
Sunday, September 29th , 2024
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.

Austin Riley of the Atlanta Braves had one such moment at Truist Park today, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Atlanta fell to a 7-6 defeat to the Kansas City Royals.

"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 27-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."

Austin Riley singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off DL Hall in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.

Riley is currently hitting at a .276 pace with 27 home runs, 64 RBIs and has scored 72 times.
