He may have less experience than most of his High-A Central peers, but that didn't slow Julius Young down at all in 2032.
At the age of 23, the Lansing center fielder has been named the winner of the High-A Central Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .370 batting average and a .454 on-base percentage this year. In 132 games he piled up 176 hits, 36 doubles, 9 triples, 26 home runs, 88 RBIs and 110 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 12. Jimmy Schmenk of the Lansing Lugnuts finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Mike Huber of the Lansing Lugnuts finished third.
