Greer Keeps Hit Streak Alive Monday, August 22nd , 2039 David Greer continued his streak at Field of the Pipeliners, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Baltimore (GCL) first baseman was 1-for-4 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Orioles were not as fortunate, losing, 6-4, to the Philadelphia W (GCL) Phillies West. "Greer was hitting everything we threw at him," said Philadelphia W (GCL) manager Franmil Reyes. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." David Greer grounded out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. In the current season, Greer has put up a .410 batting average with 84 hits, 6 home runs, 36 runs batted in and scored 37 runs. |
