6-Hit Game for Barajas Friday, August 5th , 2039 Even as a kid, Danny Barajas said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Pirate City Complex, Barajas showed how well he learned that lesson. The 21-year-old first baseman had 6 hits in 6 at-bats for the St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals, helping his team knock off the Pittsburgh (GCL) Pirates by a score of 19-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Danny Barajas hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a two-run triple in the 9th.
