Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Negron Saturday, July 29th , 2045 Tampa Bay (GCL) third baseman Alex Negron keeps on racking up hits every time he plays. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 1 hit at JetBlue Park. The Rays earned the 19-10 victory over the Boston (GCL) Red Sox. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Negron said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Alex Negron grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and hit a sac fly in the 9th. Negron is hitting .405 this year with 3 home runs, 30 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 45 hits in 111 at-bats, 11 walks and a .460 on-base percentage. Negron has played in 30 games. |
