Gonzalez Goes 5-for-5 Friday, July 28th , 2045 Mario Gonzalez got the glory and the headlines, but the Miami (GCL) Marlins left with the win. The Minnesota (GCL) catcher easily handled the Marlins pitching, going 5-for-5, but his Minnesota (GCL) Twins came out on the short end of the 31-12 score. Gonzalez told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Mario Gonzalez singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
