Gil Goes Cycling Tuesday, July 5th , 2039 It was a special day for Omar Gil at CoolToday Park. Not only did Gil's Houston (GCL) Astros beat the Philadelphia W (GCL) Phillies West, 5-4, but the left fielder hit for the cycle along the way. The 22-year-old Gil racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Phillies West manager Franmil Reyes. "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Gil said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Omar Gil doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Volk Brick in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
