Montero Pops 3 Out of the Park Against Cannon Ballers Friday, August 18th , 2034 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Hillcats-Cannon Ballers game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Lynchburg third baseman Humberto Montero thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Lynchburg to a win, 10-5, over Kannapolis. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Montero said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Montero was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Humberto Montero hit a three-run home run off Fosco Colonnese in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jesus Elizondo in the 4th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jesus Elizondo in the 9th. So far this season, Montero is hitting .252 with 19 home runs, 58 RBIs and 51 runs scored. He has 102 hits in 404 at-bats and a .339 OBP. |
