Player of the Week Trophy to Countee Monday, May 7th , 2035 New Hampshire fans have something to crow about today as New Hampshire first baseman Jim Countee nabbed the Eastern League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Countee. He posted a .391 average (9-for-23) this past week with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. So far this season, Countee has put up a .280 batting average with 28 hits, 5 home runs and 15 RBIs. |
