3-HR Game for Phillips Saturday, June 23rd , 2035 Today was a special one for Jax Phillips of the Gwinnett Stripers as he slammed three home runs in the 10-7 Stripers win over the Rochester Red Wings. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Gwinnett third baseman collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Coolray Field. Jax Phillips hit a solo-shot off Mat Hradek in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Rael in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Jorge Rael in the 7th.
