Ben Roberts had a 3-RBI game, during Syracuse's 13-4 triumph over the Worcester Red Sox. Roberts contributed 1 single and 1 home run to the cause. The 8th-place Mets are now 66-75, the Red Sox 77-64.

The Red Sox had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Mets going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Vicente Cavazos came to the plate. Cavazos hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 changeup from Worcester hurler Josh Clement. It was Cavazos's 31st double of the year.

"I just tried to put the barrel on it," said Roberts.
