Pelicans Scratch Out 2-0 Win

TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark hosted a real pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring contest between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Down East Wood Ducks, Juan Soto was the X factor. The Myrtle Beach right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher J.J. Thompson.
Mauricio de los Santos had a big solo home run for the Pelicans in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Myrtle Beach leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from Luis Constante and swatted a home run to center. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pelicans ahead, 2-0.
Myrtle Beach manager Benny Lowe called it "a pretty good win."
Down East now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
