|
Mike Adams was nothing short of phenomenal for the Augusta GreenJackets. The 21-year-old left-hander was a big reason his team beat the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, 4-1. Adams got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Alejandro Campos closed the door for Augusta, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Augusta used a timely hit from Tim Carter to get the win. The second baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the GreenJackets on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Bottom line," said Kannapolis skipper George Restovich, "we didn't play well enough to win."
The win puts Augusta at 7-7.
