James Peyton Smith, who finished 2nd in the NL in ERA with 3.02 in 2029, was locked in. The right-hander led the Washington Nationals to a 5-4 win against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. Jack Frankel earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. The Twins drop to 7-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2032 season.

With the bases empty and no one out in the top of the eighth inning, second baseman Tim Osgood delivered big for the Nationals. Washington was trailing 4-3 when he belted a solo home run.

Washington manager Chase Smith was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
