Grizzlies Back to .500 With Win Over Ports
The Fresno Grizzlies beat the Stockton Ports, 9-8, at Banner Island Ballpark. The win was due in part to second baseman Eloyd Frayre, who was 4-6 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 times. Fresno is now 34-34, Stockton 54-14.

The Grizzlies got a big hit from catcher Pascual Fornelos. Facing Stockton pitcher Luis Samora in the top of the ninth, Fornelos pounded a run-scoring double to right. His 5th double of the season put the Grizzlies ahead, 9-4.

Grizzlies manager Lonny Stare wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
