Behind the hitting of Bobby Weddle, the Great Lakes Loons clipped the South Bend Cubs, 6-4. Weddle went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Loons. The save went to Doilin Perez, his 8th this season. The loss makes South Bend 18-27.

Weddle had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 slider from Mike Prater, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Loons a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Weddle.

"Bobby was ready to go. Big day for him," said Great Lakes manager Kevin Rival.
