TinCaps Rally to Eke Out Win
The Fort Wayne TinCaps faced a tough opponent in Great Lakes pitcher Dave Nesmith, but still scratched out a win at Dow Diamond by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Nesmith went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Daniel Romero earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the TinCaps hope to make a postseason run.

Pat Blake came through with a big-time hit for Fort Wayne. The shortstop smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"I like what I saw today," said Fort Wayne manager Mike Dean, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
