The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers spoiled a good performance by Peoria right fielder Mike Niang, bumping off Peoria, 15-7, at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Niang went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Joey Villanova went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The left-hander struck out 7 and walked 0. With the win, he ups his record to 1-1 this season. The Chiefs drop to 5-11, as their stumbling start to the 2032 season continues.

Jim Powell had a big 2-run double for the Timber Rattlers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Wisconsin leading 5-4 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Juan Barreras and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Timber Rattlers ahead, 7-4.

Powell said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
