The rain came, as predicted, but the Jupiter Hammerheads and St. Lucie Mets were able to complete their ballgame.

Jupiter got a strong outing from Eric Clelland as the Hammerheads defeated the St. Lucie Mets, 12-1, at Roger Dean Stadium. Jupiter is last in the East Division with a record of 32-49.

The Mets had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Hammerheads going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old left fielder Sergio Soto came to the plate. Soto hit a grand slam home run on a 1-0 slider from St. Lucie hurler Joel Cella. It was Soto's 6th home run of the year.

"They beat us, they beat us soundly," said losing manager Matt Kluge.
