Lakeland Flying Tigers starter Tim Samberg pitched a strong game against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels at Joker Marchant Stadium, leading the Flying Tigers to victory, 4-2. Samberg, now 2-8, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Wilson Lujan recorded the save, his 1st.

Larent Benifield was one of the major contributors to the win for Lakeland. The light-hitting second baseman stroked a single to right in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the day, he was 1-3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
