Renegades Continue Skid, Thanks to Rzeppa, Blue Rocks
|
Behind a fine performance from Jake Rzeppa, the Wilmington Blue Rocks knocked off the Hudson Valley Renegades, 9-1. Rzeppa was 4 for 6 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Blue Rocks. The slumping Renegades have dropped 13 in a row.
Mike Elbers went 2-4 with a triple, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs for Wilmington. The 26-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch off Luis Mojica. It was his 19th RBI of the season.
Hudson Valley manager Pat Ahearne said: "Over the course of the season, you're going to have little ruts where you're not getting the breaks and when you're not playing well. This is one of them."
