Mauriello Hits 2 Roundtrippers, Braves Win, 18-4

The Rome Braves stormed past the Greenville Drive, 18-4, at Fluor Field at the West End. Rome third basemanMike Mauriello , who is tied for 3rd in the with a .353 batting average, led the hit parade. He was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5. Chris Avalos got the win, improving to 3-2. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Pat Easterday nailed down the save.
Jesus Amezcua, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2030 draft, helped out the Rome cause in the top of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 6. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Braves manager Cody Kimball.
Rome has 3 straight wins, Greenville 4 straight losses.
