Nosediving Dash Drop 9th Straight
|
The Hudson Valley Renegades had to overcome a big game from Winston-Salem right fielder Floyd Wesman to leave Dutchess Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 4-3. Wesman was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mike Clements claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-1. Winston-Salem, at 4-19, is off to a poor start in 2032.
Luis Salgado was the walk-off hero for Hudson Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Renegades first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Salgado.
