Blue Rocks Capture Extra-Inning Win
The Wilmington Blue Rocks powered past the Rome Braves, 8-7, in 17 innings at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Juan Tejada was 3-8 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 times and drove in 2, to lead the charge. The winner in relief was Chris Thomas. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. At 7-2, the Blue Rocks have played well so far.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jake Rzeppa in the bottom of the fourth when he hit a 3-run home run off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Elmer Winman to win the game for Wilmington. The home crowd went nuts.

"There's no quit in this team," said Blue Rocks manager Jhonathan Carrillo.
