Vancouver Rallies Past Everett, 5-4
|
Vancouver registered a win at Nat Bailey Stadium by beating the Everett AquaSox, 5-4. Pitcher Mike Balson was one reason why the Canadians triumphed. Balson, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. Brendan Spivey picked up his 14th save of the season.
Nate Burns chipped in for Vancouver, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the designated hitter was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk.
"Mike made some big pitches when he needed to," said Canadians manager Ian Snell.
Now 40-14, the Canadians have won 10 games in a row.
