First Baseman Fitzpatrick 3-for-5 in Amarillo Win
The Amarillo Sod Poodles beat the Frisco RoughRiders by a score of 13-6. Amarillo designated hitter Ronnie Fitzpatrick deserved the lion's share of the credit. Fitzpatrick went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3 for the Sod Poodles. Prince Faulcon was the winner. He's now 3-1. The loser was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Eddie Mixon. Amarillo now sits at 32-59, while Frisco falls to 49-42.

Ken Troche had a big 3-run home run for the Sod Poodles in the top of the second inning. With Amarillo leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a splitter from Eddie Mixon, who is tied for 5th in the with a 7.6 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 14th home run of the season, which put the Sod Poodles on top, 5-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Fitzpatrick said.
