Sod Poodles Make RockHounds 2-1 Losers
|
The Amarillo Sod Poodles used a great performance from Joe Gallimore, who is tied for 7th in the with a 7.7 K/9 rate, to beat the Midland RockHounds, 2-1, at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Gallimore, now 5-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Their 45-27 record puts the Sod Poodles first in the South Division.
Amarillo third baseman Eric Wunder delivered a solo home run in the top of the sixth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Gallimore said.
