Amarillo third baseman Nate Petty made his presence felt in the 7-3 Sod Poodles triumph over the Springfield Cardinals. Petty was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. After today's action, Amarillo sits at 39-20; Springfield slips to 27-32.

Early in the game, Petty had a grand slam home run for Amarillo. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Sod Poodles on top, 5-1.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Petty told the Amarillo News.
