Biscuits Score Late, Clip Blue Wahoos, 9-8
|
Pensacola got a terrific game from right fielder Jonathan Leapheart. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Montgomery, 9-8, in 12 innings. Leapheart went 4-6 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The Biscuits boast a remarkable 45-8 record.
In the bottom of the 12th, Rustan Rigdon knew he could end it with one good swing of the bat. And he did, hitting a run-scoring single off Pensacola pitcher Keyner Benitez.
"This ballpark was lit," Rigdon said.
