Reno Dismisses El Paso, 6-3
The Reno Aces topped the El Paso Chihuahuas, 6-3, in Pacific Coast League action at Southwest University park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Reno pitcher Mauricio Merlos. Merlos yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. The Aces raised their record to 51-64.

It could have been a different outcome for Reno, had it not been for Vince Lewis, the 29-year old right fielder . Lewis contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the fifth inning to put Reno up, 4-1.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lewis told reporters after the game.
