El Paso starter Chris Alexander pitched well against the Las Vegas Aviators at Southwest University park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. The last-place Chihuahuas hiked their record to 33-44.

Andy Fairchild, who is tied for 7th in the in hits with 86, aided the El Paso cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Alexander. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
