River Cats Need Extra Frames to Get Past Rainiers
The Sacramento River Cats wiggled past the Tacoma Rainiers, 6-5, at Sutter Health Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Sacramento third baseman Dave Richardson. Dave Stroh earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-1. The River Cats sport a record of 21-44.

Sacramento got a clutch hit from Chris Podgorny. The second baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"You play a lot of one-run games," said Sacramento skipper Andy Fermin, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
