Great Day for Sarmiento -- 5 Hits
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for David Sarmiento -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Werner Park and paced the 12-4 Tides win over the Omaha Storm Chasers.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Norfolk right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. David Sarmiento singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Dashawn Saintfleur in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Drew Sofield in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th.

Thus far this year, Sarmiento is batting .315 with 15 home runs, 37 RBIs and 36 runs scored.
