The Erie SeaWolves beat the Portland Sea Dogs by a score of 7-4. Erie first baseman Juan Hernandez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Hernandez went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the SeaWolves. Dave Schlinger got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Sea Dogs to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Beau Weese saved it for Erie.

It could have been a different outcome for Erie, had it not been for Junior Quezada, the 27-year old first baseman . Quezada contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Erie up, 3-0.

"I felt good up there," said Quezada. "I saw the ball well."

The last-place SeaWolves own a record of 14-38.
