Henry Allen was a vital contributor to the 5-4 Charlotte victory over Gwinnett. The Knights right fielder was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Charlotte reliever Tony Castillo was the winner. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Griffin Herring. The Knights now have a record of 11-22.

Had Josh McDannald not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, McDannald hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Knights.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," McDannald told the Charlotte Bulletin.
