Thanks in large part to designated hitter Juan Estinville, the Texas Rangers beat the Baltimore Orioles, 10-9. Estinville was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The win was credited to 25-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Matson in relief. His record improves to 5-1. Derek McSherry took the loss. The win hiked the Texas record to 76-75.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Estinville delivered big-time for Texas, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Derek McSherry. The game-changing hit put the Rangers on top, 9-8.

Estinville told a Texas Gazette reporter that he felt "relieved" after the win.
