Orioles Sunk by Red Sox
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Fenway Park.
The bats were silent much of the day at Fenway Park. But 28-year old shortstop Dan Bullock produced just enough offense to carry the Red Sox past the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1. Bullock was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs. Josh Simpson recorded the save for Boston, his 28th of the season.
Baltimore had a runner on 2nd in the top of the eighth. With one out, Evan Carter came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 3-1, Boston. The Orioles saw their comeback bid fail.
Boston, now 68-62, holds down 4th place in the American League East Division.
