Baltimore Wins, 5-4, in 12 Innings
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Citi Field, taking down the New York Mets, 5-4, in 12 innings. On the mound for Baltimore was left-hander Payton Potvin. He played a central role in the triumph. The defeat makes New York 50-50.
Though he didn't earn the victory, Potvin kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Baltimore offense came through. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 8.
"Payton was pumping the zone," said Baltimore manager Ryan Flaherty.
