Braves Get 5th Straight Win with Late Rally
|
The Atlanta Braves topped the Boston Red Sox, 6-4, with right fielder Greg Hilbert playing a big role. Hilbert was 1 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Braves in the win. Atlanta reliever Rogelio Celaya picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Sabier Marte was saddled with the loss. Hurston Waldrep got the save, his 3rd in 4 chances.
Hilbert had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Sabier Marte, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Braves a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Hilbert.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Hilbert.
Atlanta is now 50-39.
