With center fielder Juan Angulo leading the charge, the Houston Astros got a road win over the New York Yankees, 5-4, in Game 1 of the Wild Card Game. Angulo went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk at Yankee Stadium to help Houston take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jelani Babalola? The 25-year old right fielder Babalola stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Houston up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Houston manager Dickie Joe Thon told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium in New York.
